ZEN MIDCENTURY
This Studio City, CA front yard was thoughtfully reimagined to compliment the midcentury look of the home while transforming it into a drought tolerant and low maintenance landscape. The cantilevered sand finish concrete staircase that leads up to the front door was designed to be unique to the neighborhood and to add dimension to the space. Juxtaposing the shapes of the retaining walls that connect with this staircase also adds to the sense of having two levels and creates additional movement to the front yard.
The gorgeous yellow flowering Desert Museum tree serves as the centerpiece and is seen through the front windows to give privacy to the interior space. The gardens combine Pittosporum Silver Sheen hedge plants and an assortment of agaves such as Blue Flame, Celsii Nova, Geminiflora and a variety of succulents to add texture and color.
