HILLTOP GETAWAY

Located in Southern California’s San Fernando Valley, our focus for this family of four was to embrace their desire for edible gardens and a relaxing environment to enjoy time together, away from the hustle of daily life.

The sand finish cantilevered concrete staircase is softened by tree branch railings that were taken from a recent trimming of one of their own trees. Surrounding the property is a wood and wire fence that adds to the casual California feel and allows for raspberry and grape vines to attach and grow. Lime, Lemon and Satsuma Mandarin, Pomegranate and Apple trees were planted in addition to filling the existing veggie boxes with a variety of herbs and vegetable plants. The surrounding drought tolerant gardens include plants such as Little Ollies, Kangaroo Paw, Variegated Dietes, Agave Attenuata that were all selected because of their ability to tolerate both sun and shade. Sink into the hammock and let the relaxation begin.
